Hospitals in Waterloo region and Wellington County continue to “exhaust every option” as their intensive care units and acute care occupancy nears – and even hits – capacity this week.
There were 136 people with COVID-19 in Waterloo region's three hospitals with COVID-19 as of Monday. There were 17 people in the intensive care unit either infectious or requiring ongoing care from the virus.
Schools were closed and snow events were declared in Waterloo region as Waterloo region, Guelph and Wellington County were under a snowfall warning.
It's only January but municipal HR departments in Waterloo region and Wellington County are already posting jobs for the summer, aimed at high school and post-secondary students. The jobs that range from leading summer camps to teaching kids how to swim and cutting grass at local parks.
