An active investigation is underway in to the death of a local woman known for her “strong unwavering faith” and loving nature.
Just before 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, deputies responded to a call from Clayton Henderson Meadows. Residents reported what appeared to be blood outside the apartment of Rosemary Brown of Tunica. Neighbors and officers attempted to make contact with Brown without success.

Officers were able to gain entry into the apartment and discovered Brown on the floor. She had multiple stab wounds. Emergency personnel administered medical attention but were unable to revive Brown. Coroner Glenn Grant was contacted and pronounced Brown dead on the scene. Deputies began investigating the death as “an apparent homicide.”
A suspect was arrested and has been charged with Brown’s murder. Gloria Jean Logan, 54, remains in custody at the Tunica County jail. No bond has been set.
Investigators report that a motive has not been established, but that Brown and Logan were both residents of Clayton Henderson Meadows. They were also reportedly friends.

She fondly recalls that Brown was wonderful with children and was good at entertaining them.
“She wasn’t just a ‘sit a child in front of a television’ kind of babysitter,” she said. “She’d play games with them or read stories.”
In addition, Brown was a strong warrior for Christ.
“I know she’s with her Lord and Savior,” she said. “She had the strongest faith of anyone I’ve ever known.
One of Brown’s former charges agreed.
“She was a kind, strong Christian and I have no doubt she is in heaven right now,” she said.
Brown kept children for many years, before moving on to a position at the Tunica Nursing Home. Brown shined as a caregiver and was an asset to the facility, according to
